Unfortunately there's an unspoken presumption that if the Government does something, such a thing would be legal, necessary, appropriate....so on. It appears that the Courts favor this presumption as well. Add to this the fact that the Government can print money and hire an army of lawyers to fight anyone over any issue, the Government can literally bankrupt or outlive a plaintiff with delays, appeals, claims of "national security" and "executive privilege". We shareholders have experienced this first hand.
So, yeah - there's legal, there's illegal.....and then there's the process. This is what would be so great if President Trump were to have a financial interest in Fannie and Freddie - he would have every incentive to reveal the lies fraud and corruption, and then make himself ( that is, we shareholders ) whole.

p.s.: regarding the timeline for dealing with the Conservatorship - remember President Trump "gave" Iran two weeks before he was supposed to start bombing....two days later he attacks their nuclear facilities. Don't be surprised if we see some accelerated resolution to the Release and Re-List.
