What manners... pooping in the drinking water.

Must be in the mid south states. No blue jays.

I removed the meme I put up as a conversation starter since its statements were weak on facts about suspending elections. I didn't vet it, and posted it as I left for a trip to the desert yesterday. It is plausible only from the standpoint that the admin is violating the Constitution daily in a number of ways, so why would they suddenly follow the Constitution? Due process? The whole ICE criminality is enough on its own that any claims of following the law are laughable.

But those birds at the bath! I have documented the annual bird migrations and residents by a motion detecting camera on one of my bird feeders. Over the last 10 years, I average 27 species over the course of a year, with the previous low being 24. This year, the numbers crashed and only 11 species visited my feeding stations. With no unusual or killing weather for little birds during their migration. I personally believe it is related to the major crash in certain insect populations.
I have quite a number of fruit trees; apple, apricot, asian pear, plums, pluots, cherries. This year I looked daily but did not see a single honeybee during flowering. The only reliable pollinators I saw were a species of free-living native grey bee that do not form colonies, but can pollinate to a limited extent compared to domesticated honeybees.

There are many populations of little guys crashing, but it is too early to tell if it is cyclical or a trend. The only species that seem to be increasing are wolves. I do not know if global climate fluctuation is the culprit but no one is offering any credible suggestions that point away from it. And when the bottom of the food web is in trouble, it almost always means trouble for the rest.
