mick, i must have forgotten, but looking at the course do not recall (allegedly it is all in memory, so the logic goes our problem is recall not memory) ever seeing rough so consuming as it is at Oakmont. Only 10 of 156 broke par on Day 1. Bless your misguided Trump-lovin' soul. LOL ;-)

Aside: 156 USA George Duangmanee +35 .. F .. +19 .. 86 .. 89 .. 175 ... still George got there which is more than you or i could ever do, eh. Well done, George. Have a beer and think about the good times which got you there, AND how damn good it was to play in the US Open at Oakmont.

By virtue of being the lone amateur to make the cut, Hastings has won low amateur honors in 2025.

Ben James and Jackson Koivun each finished at 8 over to miss the cut by a single shot.
