LOL One time I was walking the woods in Carolina near what was my parent's property and I almost stepped on a very large turkey that was bedded down. I didn't even notice it was there. It jumped up right in front of me and flew into a nearby tree.

I don't know who was startled more, me or the bird but I damn near pissed my pants. I never saw a wild turkey close up before and had no idea that they could even fly so it took me a minute to settle down and observe it up on the branch to figure out that it was a turkey.

LOL i'd ask it to open it's eyes, look quietly into them, walk quietly up to it, touch it quietly, very quietly on a distant feather .. i wish.
