"...this is not supporting what they said in December."
Well, in December the big takeaway was that once we had 1.5 tons of reeled SS in stock, we would hit 88.6 mph and see some serious shit. We haven't hit 88.6 mph just yet and we'd all hoped it would happen sooner. It's frustrating to be expecting a share price moving announcement only to have a bucket of ice water thrown in your face.
Take heart, we are still on track to produce commercial quantities in 2025. That goal isn't dependent on yesterday's PR. if you go back to read every PR having to do with the hybrid program, the plan has been in motion for years. I think we first started hearing about it in 2018. check the January 26th, 2023 PR: "These new lines are the first of several planned silkworm strains in our hybridization program, ...As part of the Company's ongoing development efforts to commercialize spider silk production, it is also developing a four-line hybrid-cross program that should further improve yields."
The plan was always to commercially produce while these hybrids were developed. The problem was that it kept failing without the hybrids and we had to wait for BAM. BAM worked and the pilot/ramp up with BAM1 is underway and running concurrently as this new double hybrid production system is implemented.
No worries here. You DID see a big pile of cocoons and will see more within weeks. When do we hit 88.6 mph? (1.5 tons reeled)...I don't know. Before the end of July I hope.
