You hit the nail on the head right there. Maher is a COMEDIAN, not a journalist and should never be taken seriously. It's only his job to make the audience laugh and stirring controversy is how he does it.
That would have been one question to ask. But in Maher's place, I'd have hammered on Trump's fundamental dishonesty. How he rips everyone off; how he never does anything unless it benefits him and his family. How he lies constantly.
Seems Maher's sarcastic one-sided approach is evidence he will remain no more than a comedian looking to boost market share. Doesn't he really care about democracy either.
