Hi Canuck, my Vancouver sister voted NDP. Most all countries roughly divide into two mains because that's what we humans mainly do. And i think because the idea is that most responsible government comes from two mains. I think history supports that. As you well know, stark division is greater in America than in most other countries. Personally i like a center-left minority government with a smaller party like the Greens, or real Independents, holding a balance of power. Fingers crossed, i think our Labor will get up. Don't forget our Liberals are our conservatives. Guessing about a 5% swing to Labor. With minor conservative parties particularly suffering the most, thanks partially to Trump.

No more lofty goals of defeating neoliberalism, taking on wealth inequality, defeating the global race to the bottom, considering corporate greed the enemy of the people ?

By ignoring the cause of 'trumpism' dems enable it.....Take it another step and actually fight the cure to the underlying cause, you will inflame it further....

Without the above you don't have a freakin trump. People will ignore much to defeat the enemy thats wealth inequality, thats how history has always been....

You can't fight the threat of authoritarianism if you don't fight the cause........Lofty goals or not, democrats/liberals still find themselves on the wrong side of historical outcomes....Fighting changes in trade, sweatshop labor and a reshoring of American industry should be a Democratic goal.....

I do not condone violence to facilitate the end to the destruction of our democracy but, with this administrations blatant refusal to comply with court orders, the weaponization of the justice department, and the impotence of the SCOTUS, make violent civil unrest,a forgone conclusion! Peace to you!

They want violent civil unrest so that must be denied. We can use boycotts and economic stoppages and many more peaceful, lawful methods.

People just want wealth equality, they would prefer to avoid all the above......Its not a fight people want, it is indeed a fight dems will lose if that's what it comes down to.....Dems still don't get cause and effect or historical outcomes....
