I inherited a nice collection when I was a little kid, got the collector bug, and was fortunate to have an older sister that was a bank teller. She set aside rolls of silver dimes, including a couple rolls of mercury dimes. My favorites as a kid were the steel pennies of 1944. Two and three cent pieces I will never sell from the family collection. The farm I grew up on had been a stage coach stop so I occasionally found 1880s vintage coins in the parking area, but have never remembered my metal detector ony infrequent trips back.
