Transferring otc stocks. Thx, gil. Would enjoy hearing from anyone who has tried to transfer otc stocks from one broker to another in, say, the past year. I was told by my knowledgeable 10yr guy at Etrade (who is not prone to hyperbole) that about the only thing one can do is to sell your otc stocks at the old broker and then re-buy at the new broker. He said it had to do with so many shady transfer agents over the years that the auditors require a ton of paperwork to determine if the shares are legit, whereas if you bought the shares at your current broker then the auditor can see where the purchase originated.
