If Trump makes exceptions for basic necessities, and targets commodities, and things that we actually want to make more of I’ll be more optimistic. But he’s got a he’s gotta do something to help the little guy that is working 60 hours a week.
100% agree. The system has always been and is only moving more towards catering to the wealthy while screwing over the lower and middle classes. The rich siphon resources off of those that are already struggling. The system in the country is designed to operate that way. It pisses me off to the nth degree. I'm not talking about socialism or simply giving things away to people, but having a system that's more fair/just would be nice. The taxes that we all pay in this country are absolutely insane, and what do most people get for it in return? Not much. Imo, the United States has become an absolute joke. This coming from a person that's not lower/middle class. I'm also not a self centered/self serving pile of horse shit.
Hi kayak_wench, I agree that the tariffs are regressive and shouldn’t replace income tax. A few years ago Steve Forbes proposed a flat tax. No deductions, just a flat percentage. I liked that idea, but I was in a tiny minority on that one.
