Luckily i backed off my stupid idea of testing the system by not bothering to get one. Had decided to try to get away with it, then woke up next morning thinking nooooo that's pushing things toooo far. Finally got it, and lucky i smartened up because the lady at the Canadian consulate told me, IF you didn't have one they wouldn't let you on the plane. Whew!!!
