as the fact apparently, according to multiple sources, that Musk actually wanted a shutdown was just about enough for me. You don't give pricks like that what they want unless you absolutely have to. Then the apparent fact that a shutdown would allow Trump/Musk et al to classify virtually any worker they felt they could get away with as non-essential without court (open or not) interference as it's apparently legal to do that during a shutdown, then fire them. And the carte blanche for Musk. All of Schumer. and the other's, points i went with. Thought i'd made it clear.
Again, 258 dems in all of congress and all voted against this bill except shruumer and 8 other pals of his. So 249 people had it wrong? Don't think so. The old fuck was wrong and maybe even compromised or just plain addled. Everybody and I mean EVERYBODY had him told him the dems needed the bill to die so the close down would be on the gop nazi's and put THEM into defense. A hundred people told him the shutdown wouldn't even last a week or two because the gop nazi's would have been forced to meet and work with the dems. Did you not catch that the house gop nazi's wrote the whole bill behind closed doors and would not even listen to any dem in the house, there was NO input allowed by the house dems. NONE!
Why the fuck would anyone vote for that bill unless they were paid off, threatened or fucking demented like shruumer stuck in the 1980's. There's NO ONE on the other side.
No one agrees with you in congress. The muskrat thing was and is a gop lie bullshit. The reality is they wouldn't have had time to do anything like that, and they were already doing shit anyways.
There's at least three judges over the weekend that have contempt of court ready to go AND they don't have to use the fed marshalls at all, they can go with other agencies not associated with the government at all. That's always been there for just this situation. But that bill they passed had some other things on there that may take all that away from the judges anyhow. That was one of the real issues... not shutting down the gov. And by the way there may have been at least 7 major agencies for the people that had their budgets ZERO'D out in there as well.
A minority of dems got played like wiener fools again. It is what it is.
