I can't claim to know "what's best", but I do know a few things.
(1) What is required for a legal corporation to exist, both in Canada & the USA..
(2) What is required for a company to list publicly on an exchange.
(3) The difference between reality & fiction - stakeholders vs shareholders.
You my friend, are out of luck.
The 3 entities that comprised "The Company", ceases to exist at this point. That means, so does your previous equity, once upon a time represented as shares.
Oh well 🤷
