Democrats will then have to decide whether they’ll oppose the measure by mounting a filibuster. If they block it, they will risk taking the blame for shutting down the government unless they can convince the public it’s Trump’s fault. If they allow the measure to pass, they could again look like they lack the strength and purpose to resist Trump’s presidency.

Bullshit. They don't need to filibuster, they just don't vote at all. Reps can't pass it by themselves. I've said before we're way past worrying about getting blamed for anything specially coming from the gop nazis. Doing a filibuster means the dems play their game of being on defense and trying to get the nazis to change something on the bill. Screw that, just let the bill go forward and don't vote. It won't pass and the gop nazi will have to rewrite it again. WE shouldn't do anything.

They've already shut down most the government, what other parts are the dems worried about?

Elon Musk claims X being targeted in ‘massive cyberattack’ as service goes down

Hours after a series of outages Monday that left X unavailable to thousands of users, Elon Musk claimed that the social media platform was being targeted in a “massive cyberattack.”

“We get attacked every day, but this was done with a lot of resources,” Musk claimed in a post. “Either a large, coordinated group and/or a country is involved. Tracing …”

Later on Monday, Musk said on Fox Business Network’s Kudlow that the attackers had “IP addresses originating in the Ukraine area” without going into detail on what this might mean.

Cybersecurity experts quickly pointed out, however, that this doesn’t necessarily mean that an attack originated in Ukraine. Security researcher Kevin Beaumont said on Bluesky that Musk’s claim is “missing a key fact — it was actually IPs from worldwide, not just Ukraine.”

Specifically, he said it was a Mirai variant botnet, which is made of compromised cameras. He said while he is not sure who is behind the attack, it “Smells of APTs — advanced persistent teenagers.”

Allan Liska of the cybersecurity firm Recorded Future, meanwhile, pointed out that even if “every IP address that hit Twitter today originated from Ukraine (doubtful), they were most likely compromised machines controlled by a botnet run by a third party that could be located anywhere in the world.”

Complaints about outages spiked Monday at 6 a.m. Eastern and again at 10 a.m, with more than 40,000 users reporting no access to the platform, according to the tracking website Downdetector.com. By afternoon, the reports had dropped to the low thousands.

A sustained outage that lasted at least an hour began at noon, with the heaviest disruptions occurring along the U.S. coasts.

Downdetector.com said that 56% of problems were reported for the X app, while 33% were reported for the website.

It’s not possible to definitively verify Musk’s claims without seeing technical data from X, and the likelihood of them releasing that is “pretty low,” said Nicholas Reese, an adjunct instructor at the Center for Global Affairs in New York University’s School of Professional Studies and expert in cyber operations.

Whitesides explains vote to oppose continuing resolution

"Still, the failure to produce detailed spending plans for individual government departments and the decision to push vital decisions down the road raises doubts about the House majority’s capacity to function. The bill does not, for instance, deal with the need to raise the government’s borrowing limit — another looming crisis that could cause economic contagion within weeks without prompt action. It also fails to codify Musk’s swing at federal government jobs and programs into law — perhaps because they’re increasingly divisive and could threaten GOP unity."

FROM A PRESS RELEASE 8 hrs ago
[...]
“This resolution also comes on the heels of the GOP budget framework which would gut hundreds of billions from Medicaid while raising the federal deficit by over $4 trillion.

“My vote (Tuesday) was a fight to restore these much-needed funds. We must return to the negotiating table, do our jobs, and complete the budget process so that our local law enforcement and community organizations get the funds they need and deserve.

“I will continue to put my constituents over partisan politics, and stand against attacks on my community and our most sacred programs like Medicaid and Social Security. Washington Republicans control the White House, the House, and the Senate. By choosing to walk away from bipartisan negotiations and craft a bill behind closed doors, they have put corrupt special interests first, and the American people second.”

Additionally, he said the proposed resolution includes cuts to critical federal programs, including veterans healthcare, the Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs for State and Local Law Enforcement Assistance Program and the cost of housing. Cuts also target the Disaster Relief Fund, Emergency Food Program, Rural Development Broadband, National Institutes of Health, Social Security Administration, Corps of Engineers’ Civil Works projects, Local Transportation Safety Projects, USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture and Natural Resources Conservation Service.

Republicans also added language in the rule that blocks the House from voting on any resolution to end President Donald Trump’s tariffs under Section 202 of the National Emergencies Act. In effect, by waiving Congress’ authority to override Trump tariffs under the NEA, the GOP is providing a rubber stamp for any and all tariffs, and removing Congressional oversight in the process, Whitesides said.

The Democrat exhibits good common sense, and respect for the responsibility of his position.

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz (R-TX) released the statement below following her vote to pass the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act to fund the government through September 30th, 2025.

“South Texans gave us a mandate to deliver on the conservative agenda while cutting waste, fraud, and abuse of tax dollars. By passing today’s continuing resolution, we are extending government funding to continue our work to cut reckless spending, boost military defenses, support border patrol, and ensure families can access the programs they rely on. The overall bill spends less while supporting core government operations and our national security. Though I am disappointed that FY2025 Community Project Funding is not included in this legislation, my team will continue to monitor developments and work to secure critical investments for our communities.” – Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz

The Republican parrots the fraudulent Trump/Musk cutting waste, fraud and abuse of tax dollars line.
Spending on good causes is not waste just because your ideological position says you don't like it.
