Something that seems strange to me: Where was the odious Pete Hegseth? He is, after all, Secretary of Defense. Did Trump--or perhaps Rubio, with Trump's consent--fear he'd say things so appalling he couldn't come back from even in the context of Trump's own revolting behavior?
