Last thing to bother you with on this subject. It's sounding like some sort of refresh problem. Mine sometimes do not clear until I hit that board or even I sometimes have to right click to choose the first tab open and and from the drop down menu select 'reload all tabs' or however your browser puts it and that clears the counter if I've read them.
