Clearly, the Albanian government sees a direct route to currying favor with Donald Trump by putting money into the pockets of his daughter and son-in-law.
Kushner's "Affinity Partners" firm — which is funded by roughly $4.6 billion from Middle East nations like Saudi Arabia — will manage the Albanian resort and is also investing in a Serbian luxury hotel project.
These projects represent a profound conflict of interest as Albania and Serbia seek support from the U.S. federal government to help them join the European Union.
"It all looks like favoritism, like they are providing access to Kushner because they want to be on the good side of Trump," Obama-era ethics lawyer Virginia Canter told The New York Times.
This kind of naked corruption is nothing new for Kushner. Just six months after he left the White House during Trump's first term, his firm received $2 billion from the Saudi Crown Prince.
Many experts at time alleged that the investment was a blatant quid pro quo payback for the Trump administration refusing to hold Saudi Arabia accountable for the murder and dismemberment of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
The simple truth is that the Trump family is no better than a mafia organization and the entire world is going to pay the price for their greed.
