In one study, Gaviscon was found to be non-inferior to omeprazole in treating moderate heartburn. However, another study found that omeprazole was better than Gaviscon at reducing the number of days with heartburn.

Thanks, will definitely check it out today when i get to the chemist in a last grab of free meds thanks to our yearly safety net on purchase of prescription drugs. It wouldn't be prescription, as Gaviscon isn't, just other meds are and plan was to get up there today. After reaching a limit the rest of prescription for the year are free, with a 30-day interval between the freebies. I got i think three lots of freebies in this year. Or maybe only two before now with today being the third.
