Nope. If Tas was dripping with mineral endowment, the major mining companies would be all over it. They are not. Even the mid-tiers are absent.
I will reiterate: Tasmania sucks as a 'world-class' or 'Tier-one' mining destination. It's bush league...

Gotta quit with the Balfour con. There is NO economically exploitable copper deposit there currently and doubtful there ever will be. Wrong rocks.
Liberia at least had a shot; plenty of gold there (and iron ore), but forget about river dredging...
