The strength of this company keeps reminding me of a company here in Oklahoma....Chesapeake Energy. I know they are different, but I believe this company has the same potential as Chesapeake!
Chesapeake was founded in 1989 by our CEO, Aubrey K. McClendon, and our former President and COO, Tom L. Ward, with only a $50,000 initial investment and an objective to build a sizeable natural gas exploration and production company.
Chesapeake rapidly grew its reserves and production and in February 1993 we completed an IPO to help fund our growth at a split adjusted price of $1.33 per share.
We were among the first to recognize that improvements in horizontal drilling and completion technologies would enable the industry to develop vast new supplies of natural gas from unconventional reservoirs.
We are the seventh largest U.S. natural gas producer and we own an interest in approximately 34,600 oil and gas wells that are currently producing approximately 1.7 bcfe per day, 92% of which is natural gas.
