For sure. But doesn't that seem like some sort of inside reporter joke using that word. Photos, portraits, pictures all come to mind. Images. Too many choices to justify using 'headshots'.
Surely it could be nothing like I wrote... but... I've been in that industry for over 40 years, I know it has been used a zillion times in articles. Sorry, it just jumped out at me is all. Due to what just went down and now all the 'target' talk.
