excel Talking about
abusing ones body....

My first injury was in grade school, I did a perfect swan dive right into the side of the pool. I then got a huge (size of an egg) lump on my head. Off to ER.

In high school I body surfed. My best friend and her brother board surfed. They gave me "dry land" lessons for board surfing. That weekend I went camping with their family at the beach.
They had an extra board and said I could use it. Early the next morning her brother called out "Surfs Up." I woke up and my friend said she was too tired to go out and for me to use her board and she would see me later. I was half asleep, got ready, grabbed her board, and started to paddle out with her brother. All of a sudden the sets started coming in. Huge. I wasn't as strong as paddler as him and I got caught on the wrong side of the breaks. I yelled "What should I do?" He yelled out "Lay down, grab the board, roll over" so I did. BOOM. The wave crashed on me. I held on tight and it popped me up into the air like a piece of pop corn. Determined not to let go, I landed. BAM, BAM, BAM the board went right on my face. I let go of the board and tried to swim away from it. Powerful surf. The next wave broke on me. I then just missed the fin of the board splitting my head in two. It was all I could do to keep air in my lungs, let alone worrying about how to get away from my board. White water! I finally got hurled up to the shore. I crawled out and collapsed on the sand. I had blood coming out of me. I broke my nose. I then looked for the board and it was 1/2 mile down shore. My neck hurt too. lol

Then I was in college. It was a nice day and I decided to go snow skiing. Usually I used short skis so I could hot dog it. I decided I wanted to go fast that day so I rented some long skis. My first time on long skis. Turned out the conditions were not too good that day. The sun was out and the slopes were melted, hard, slick. I looked on the map and decided to take the beginners route with my new type skis. Up the chair I went. When I got to the top, I got off the chair and started skiing over to my easy route. This Japanese guy came barrelling down yelling something in Japanese. To avoid a collision I cut, to get out of his way, and low and behold I was then on my way down the advanced slope.

Oh man. This was not what I had planned. I started going fast! All of a sudden the jump came. I knew if I landed wrong I could die. This jump looked like it was something out of Wild World of Sports. No spread eagle for me. I landed. It was all I could do to keep my balance when I hit the ground. The force of landing crouched me down low. With all my strength I pushed myself up and that's when it happened. I blew my knee. I then had to concentrate to keep my balance. The ski patrol saw. They were on me. They couldn't keep up with how fast I was going on my new ski's. lol They would radio ahead, and they kept saying "Cut your speed" "Cut your speed." My knee hurt too bad to do anything. I got to the bottom of the run and went right off into the bare ground. (I think they were using artificial snow that day on the lower area) I then fell over. The ski patrol was waiting for me, and they helped me up and I wobbled off, with their help, to the first aid station. Then when I got home, off to a series of Dr.'s for my knee.

Between child hood injuries and a few car wrecks, not to mention abusing my body working, it's safe to say I'm jacked. If you don't know this already...when you sleep, you have to keep your elbows below your neck. This will help minimize numbness. fwiw
I will pray for you for Mon..

excel, how did your operation turn out? Many men had the carpel tunnel operation but it was not always a big success. In a couple of cases men I worked with had little or no improvement. At my assessment I was not considered bad enough for the operation, only mild discomfort and only the top half of my fingers go white if I am outside on a cold day, LOLOL.

MrSparex mentioned hanging your hand over the edge of the bed and yes that does work for me.
