Disinformation thanks to Trump played a big part too. And his buying off of so much of the rural vote via his tariffs so subsidies so dependency. I know your farmers have been fairly heavily subsidized by all parties still Trump boosted that buy by a mammoth amount.
Aside: Off for an hour+ walk. It's the COPD which is capable of creating innumerable other problems so they say keeping fit is of paramount importance in slowing down the progression of a damn incurable condition.
