I think YOU are the one who needs to inform himself. Kids aren't being REQUIRED to read those books. They're merely available if kids want to read them. And obviously many that are too difficult for younger kids to read won't be found in their libraries.
This is all so stupid. By the way, did you read soft or hardcore pornography in school? I'll bet you did. Tell kids they can't read something, and you can pretty much bet they will.
I suppose it's time throughout all our soul searching to take parenting skill tips from a dude whose kids unlived themselves and had the grandkids taken away from himself in one of the poorest performing states in the union .. It makes perfect sense..
