Quite likely Trump/Musk eliminate FHFA altogether. After all, what purpose would they serve once F&F are released from conservatorship? Not only that, but FHFA never fulfilled their main mission as conservator. In fact they did just the opposite. Virtual guarantee FHFA is on the chopping block with Musk looking down on them as potential head of Dept. of Gov Efficiency. A no-brainer for Musk. Also, we all know Buffett was a big fan of the GSE's back in their heyday. Trump prefers private industry vs Gov involvement. Gov too inefficient. Certainly Musk is aware of that. Buffett may be gearing up to buy the GSE's. Certainly fits with his investment strategy.
