Sorry for the big edit in that one. My add, in ignorance of your reply, should go some to easing your concern about giving up. In many posts we just don't put all we feel. You know that, and i often have quick other thoughts. And in Australia i know good people who don't like to talk politics or religion. The old silly rule about dinner table conversation.
Most i think do care, but how much. How many do not understand clearly who ends up paying for tariffs. How many would not have been aware of the threats against judges and electoral workers around 2020. And how many are quiet about Israel killing roughly 50 Palestinians a day because 'I can't do anything about it anyway.'
I don't think thinking like that excludes them from being decent people but it does get a Trump elected.
Thank Sod it could never happen in Australia. Still we will drift into more authoritarian thoughts thanks to your election result.
