I don't take the pejorative view of the 'elite' as you do. And I don't take Jabbar's background as disqualifications of his opinions. Not living among the 'commoners' does not preclude learning about the problems of the commoners. Nor does living among them assure understanding of commoner problems.

FDR, JFK, LBJ, Clinton and Obama were all elites, and yet their Bills, their economies, did more to help more commoners than the GOP has done with their too numerous recessions, junk economics and junk science.

Really, RFK Jr. in charge of HHS? Hell, why not the CDC?

I view resentment of elites as resentment of education and expertise; both of which we demand of MDs, engineers and airline pilots. Ever know anyone who strived for mediocrity?
