It was General Kelly, Trump's chief staff, that said it. I'll take a four star marine general's opinion over yours any day.

Sure nobody in the government is a fascist now but there very well could be one again. Are you comfortable with him calling the military to round up his enemies? Cancelling TV networks that he doesn't like? Rounding up and deporting people who have the right to be here?

And don't say that he shouldn't be taken seriously because the guy repeats it day in and out. There will be no guardrails next time, just yes men.

Sounds kind of fashy to me.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

OMOLIVES, Ok what? We have given you all the evidence, evidence that fascism does have a history in the US, and evidence that there are fascists in the U.S. who support Trump today. And clear evidence that Trump speaks like a fascist. And evidence that top people who have been close to him see him as a fascist. You have been given all the evidence that any sensible person would need to consider the fact that this election could very well give America a government which would act very much as a fascist government would act. Yet all you do is serve up:

Ok. None of those individuals are fascists. No one in Congress is a fascist ..no one in the current administration if a fascist. Absolutely no one in the Federal Government is a fascist.
There is nothing worse than calling someone something they are not. It is so disingenuous to what fascism actually is...and it makes me sick. Those that just simply throw that word out there are the ones having a" mocking dismissal fail"

The word is not just being thrown out as the latest hot word as you mocked it as. The word
fascist, as a descriptive, fits Trump. And it fits some of his most fervent and wealthy backers.

What is it about the fact that Trump read Hitler speeches for years that you don't understand. Likely still does at times.

What is about the fact a foremost expert on fascism Robert Paxton

rooster, Paxton knows and Gawthorpe gets it right - Is this fascism? No. Could it become fascism? Yes
https://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=175098565

says a Trump government could easily become a fascist government you don't understand.

What is it about the fact that top people as Kelly and others who have worked closely with Trump see him as a fascist that you don't understand.

You should also understand your righteous indignation about a "hot word" being unfairly used
against a man who fully deserves the descriptive makes myself and others feel sick at times too.

Two generals who worked closely with Trump have identified him as a fascist. Do you think that the two of them are historically illiterate, like you?

Really? Fascists are nothing new in this country. There were tons of them in the 1930s, in and out of government. Charles Lindbergh--a national hero--was a fascist and an admirer of Hitler.

And people like him--authoritarians, isolationists, and protectionists--are back in favor now, here and elsewhere.
