i did years ago, with no result. I decided it might have had something to do with my jumping from mail to board so much and losing them from mail for some reason.
No. If they're public posts, they disappear from your inbox as soon as you click on them. They stay in your mailbox until you do that.
BUT if you're batch reading--reading 10 or 20 or more at once--if you go on to "next 20" and three of those posts are addressed to you, they'll disappear from your inbox whether you read all 20 or not. That could be what you're seeing.
