The heart doesn't exist until about 9-10 weeks. The sound heard before then is created by the machine and represents electrical activity in a clump of cells. A heartbeat is the sound of operating valves, and at six weeks valves don't exist. Many articles label the sound, at six weeks, which the machine creates to make it audible as a heartbeat, but it isn't.

* At about 10 weeks to 12 weeks, the heart is formed.

Great point...

Hearts pump blood, moron. Does a fetus have a circulatory system at 6 weeks?

But of course life starts at conception with a thinking conscience and awareness of god. Even though there's no heart to pump blood to a brain that doesn't exist in the two or three cells after about 10 hours or so...
