NO, no one want's open borders. That's a GOP talking point like defunding the police. The GOP HAS to misrepresent Dem positions while at the same time creating bogus issues like 'stolen elections', illegal immigrants taking jobs that Americans won't do away from Americans, or lying about legally protected Haitians eating pets because it serves Vance's jaundiced view of all immigrants.
The bipartisan immigration bill that Trump shot down was tougher than the one the Dems didn't want and it was the one that was doable.
