BM I was a teacher of English in the age group 16 - 19 for 10 years about 45 years ago. I still have not forgotten everything. After two years of my English studies at the University of Oslo about 3 out of about 100 got better grades than me. After that I studied Ehglish for another 2 years, among other things writing a thesis on the satires of Alexander Pope. Your vocabulary is very good to my mind. Sadly it is quite common to mix up the use of "its" and "it's". The latter suggests some sort of belonging. Hence it is natural to assume that it should be spelled the way you and quite a few others do. People simply have to learn by rote what is the correct spelling.
