On another vaguely related topic if one is discussing pie holes.... I finally stopped at a little shop in the big town that's a homemade pie place every one was raving about at my doctors office and gas station...
Sticker shock that pies were up to 32.00 for a whole one. But I haven't shopped for pies for some time so I don't know value really. BUT, at over 12 inches around and almost all 3 inches thick, perhaps the price is warranted.
When I got home and just now dived into them, the price IS warranted. Cool thing is I could mix and match. Something Silk with coffee notes, tart cherry, keylime, dutch apple.. there were a few more but you only get six pieces.Silk is like chocolate coffee cheese cake and the apple is amazing and are so rich. Both are 3 inch high. And now I'm going to take a break and just read so I can finish my pie and then have a heart attack right after.
