Sure, bots that can write have been around for years. So have bots that do translation. But until the last few years, both were terrible.

Now they're better. But the ones that write turn out stuff that's sort of mechanical. Uniform in a creepy way.

Unfortunately, it isn't just "marketing bullshit". It goes beyond that. It's cheaper than hiring people. And it won't be producing the next century of great, or even decent, novels.
