Business Development Manager - Critical Infrastructure at NVIS Communications, LLCCurrently, Business Development Manager for Critical Infrastructure with NVIS Communications, I am working with federal agencies such as the DHS SHARES office and the NERC E-ISAC to develop nation-wide contingency communications systems using HF radio. I am also a member of the Oregon Statewide Interoperability Executive Council (SIEC). Since 2009 I was very lucky to have been able combine my over 40 years of professional volunteer experience in emergency planning and response with an equal amount of “day job” experience in business analysis, enterprise architecture, project management, change management and engineering in a single job assignment. Working for Flux Resources, LLC as a contractor at the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) Office of Security and Continuity of Operations, provided me with that unique opportunity. We have been making a difference by preparing BPA for “the Big One” (like a CSZ event) as well as all the small ones as we plan, train, exercise and prepare BPA. I have been able to do meaningful work with all the hot buzzwords of emergency management – COOP, BCP, ICS, HSEEP, HF, Space Weather, GMD, EMP, interoperability, resilience, FirstNet and the list goes on.
