True that...... but hedge funds were not carrying SRTs (Synthetic Risk Transfers) from big banks like JPM and Citi back then. Commercial real estate is a massive black swan that has not hit yet. Many of these too big to fail banks made these loan transfers over to hedge funds to avoid being hit with defaults on loans. Now the hedge funds carry them.

Oh..... it's coming and when it comes there will be big bank survivors until loans are due again. Hedge funds will go the way of the dinosaur....... so long as banks make it through.
That is just one of many black swans lurking in these CraZy times ahead.
