At this point it appears that the people buying stock are not that moved by small daily gains and/or losses. There appear to be major substantive issues at hand that promise to have large, permanent valuation, implications. 4 million shares a week is still relatively meaningless when talking about 5 to 8 billion total shares. More than anything else, I believe that the historically high volume of shares being traded is a pretty bullish sign that most people think good things are on the horizon.
