What?? Yes. FDR ran for his fourth term in 1944. He was suffering from congestive heart failure. He looked like hell at Yalta. And he died only a few months after his inauguration. In early April 1945. Truman had been kept in the dark about most things, including the atom bomb.
As for Reagan, huh? I was living in Italy at the time, but was still able to watch the first debate on TV. It was just awful. The Iran began in the summer of 1987.
My rather obvious point is we're strong enough to survive the misadventures that may affect presidents and other important officials.
