What's the tie breaker when it comes to who is most prone to the effect?

Not education per se but rather the absence of critical thinking skills and a pronounced weakness for logical fallacies and conspiracy theories, manifested most often on this board as conclusion jumping, sweeping generalizations, false equivalencies and conspiracy theories ranging from 'inside job', false flags and all manner of junk science based nonsense such as anti-vax positions, light, disinfectants, boats, batteries and sharks.

Is Dunning-Krueger a new discovery for you? Most of us have known about it for more than 25 years.

And it's quite simple: When tests in various subjects are administered to groups of people, and then the people are asked to guess how they did, the ones with the worst performance think they did the best. The ones who did best were doubtful about their own success. They didn't necessarily think they did very badly, but thought they might have made some mistakes.
