If only we had done that in 2017 with a company that specializes in alloys. And if only we had a strong connection to that company. Oh wait..... I forgot. We did and it went nowhere. That ingot is a nice 98.6 degrees somewhere. Maybe someday it will pop back up and be something. 🤷

Matheson was on target.

During the rare earth shortage of 2010, the price for scandium metal soared from a few thousand US dollars to over US$ 15,000 per kilogram. The more widely commercially used form, scandium oxide (Sc2O3), meanwhile, was being offered at prices of over US$ 7000/kg. In the half decade following that period of significant price gains, however, limited demand and steady production has resulted in the price of scandium falling back towards its 20-year average.

Correction: It was late when I wrote that. With more clarity, it was my understanding back then that Mathesons quote was for high grade scandium to be sold as a finished part using a partner like IBC. The Sc/Al came later. And yes, I now recall you and some others posted that $3500/kg was the going price at the time of the release of the FS so LCP was definitely wrong back then. Did not know Sc has dropped 50%. Incidentally, MP Materials (formerly MolyCorp) peaked in March 2022 at $57.50/share and is now trading at $14.04.share so the REE market appears to be lagging in general.
