Appreciate being around for July 4th, I am surviving once again without oxygen, but only in my air-conditioned home. I tried again to go outside, but my oxygen levels dropped immediately into the low 80s, not good for these old, damaged lungs. As a reminder, if you cherish life, don't fucking smoke, period.
The French had elections this past weekend, and guess what the extreme right won with only 33 %, it appears the extreme right has as much of following as they do in America. Now a few days later the right is finding itself isolated by the other governing political parties. Democracy, or whatever code word you want to describe this process we have in America has been working, you might not like it, and it has many problems, but it sure beats the alternative of having a Putin in Russia, or the idiots in North Korea of China.
I have my China screens, and it is sad watching once promising companies keep trending lower as Capitalism keeps withdrawing its funds from those once promising endeavors. North Korea is not even worthy of discussion, it is a shithole.
I would like to point out, that the American economy is robust, it is growing, and like it or not most Americans are benefitting from it. I am back into a cash position, but then I rarely hold anything very long in this market. I am old, I have health issues, and my days of risk taking are tepid. Most Americans are working and making a life for themselves. Yes there are issues, there are always issues, but it sure beats anything else I have seen my lifetime. Lastly, I lost everything back in the 1980s, and I lost it again after my divorce, but I was awarded my children. You can make it in America, you need to work, and maybe have a little luck, but even when this country was being discovered, there are no promises.
