I didn't know. Early adjustment: Masters winner Jon Rahm’s journey from a newborn with clubfoot to golf’s most exclusive club

Twenty minutes after he was born, Jon Rahm had all the bones in his right ankle broken and realigned. From the knee down, he was covered in plaster. Doctors had diagnosed him with the birth defect clubfoot, which involves a baby having a foot severely turned inward or upward.

When he started playing golf, Rahm realised he would never have the mobility in his ankle to create the torque needed to be a power hitter. So, he adjusted. He shortened his backswing and worked on generating power through his hand speed and from a strong core.
