sorry, but in my schooling our form of government was called a representative democracy -- which of course is specified in the constitution -- never remembering it called a Constitutional Republic until you wrote it -- fits perfectly -- thanks

Perhaps he was born back when State legislatures, rather than ordinary voters, chose senators. Only members of the House were elected by the people.
