Got the pleasure of a one on one with our current school board.....(thanks to the middle school principal who invited me to the hearings they have with expulsion students) after their hearings were done, I was invited in....
Brought up the fact you presented, the fact they have so many required elective classes, the US and WV standings in education......We got a nice shiny new Soccer field, and we have 55 county school boards who could put their collective power together against the politicians....Took up for teachers and pointed out how most of the board is too old for the job and keeping the status quo.....Ending with how the system now caters to about 35% of the student population...
Not sure if it did much good, better than going to the shouting match public school board meetings.......I thought I handled myself well and the positive I was left with was the acting president caught up with me at the door leaving the building and shook my hand thanking me and said he planned on using the recording he made.......
Will America ever prioritize education again? Ask the dems, they make up the vast majority of the teachers and administrations in our educational system all the way through college......
Having lunch with the district court judge again next week the presided over our adoption case...on a different subject....Be civil, remember everyone puts their pants on the same way and most people are open to good solid discussion.....(That is, if they aren't progressives ;)....So I do what I can, and you?
