LOL In fairneess, Richard Childress seems a tad bit confused as well..

Though he might be experiencing heart palpitations after Trumpty told him he needs a billion dollars or he will shut NASCAR down for good.

As far as I know, you don't salute even on memorial day to anyone if you're not in the military, never served or not with any law enforcement agencies.
But vets and others don't mind if a civilian salutes them as it's still out of respect and thanks from regular people. So it's something not sweated.

Matter of fact, I don't know why anyone would be putting their hand over their heart during amazing grace either...

But the maga has re-imaged/edited 'America The Beautiful' and the pledge of allegiance into their own personal government constitution.

I love that song so much as odd as it may seem. There are so many incredible artists who have covered Amazing Grace, here are just a few of them.

According to the US Code [36 U.S. Code § 301], the only people who may properly salute during the National Anthem are those in uniform and those members of the military and veterans not in uniform. All others are to stand solemnly with their hands over their hearts. Donald Trump is not a veteran, and without his red tie he's out of uniform. Oh, and it's "Amazing Grace" playing, not the National Anthem.
