Whatever happened to Optimism and Pessimism. Or Positivity and Negativity That CNN Fear Index looks stupid. Extreme fear through fear - neutral - greed to Extreme greed. I don't understand how CNN rationalizes a useless and misleading index like that.
It really has nothing to do with red/blue, left/right, etc., read about it? One of many market sentiment indicators, it is certainly not right slanted bullshit, just 7 statistical measurements without influence of geopolitical, economic or other exogenous events that can influence markets.
If you wish, just substitute bearish for fear, bullish for greed, what's the difference? Just semantics, and how you use/view it, if at all, is what matters.
