But use common sense. Kosmos didn't bid on Block 4, why? Obviously, Shell wouldn't upset its partner, Kosmos, by bidding on Block 4 with source oil without first consulting with Kosmos and clearing up the Kosmos mess. Otherwise, Kosmos would've bid on Block 4 too! Attack the logic not the character.
The logic shows that Kosmos and Shell are working together. The logic shows that Shell and ERHC are working on a deal because logically Shell doesn't want to tie this up in court in light of the international caveat emptor. And logic shows that Total is very interested in ERHC's JDZ assets given that the court documents had an entire presentation on the unrelated to block 4 and the case, JDZ assets, in a drop box.
