"But is does HURT when you are a female athlete and you are forced to compete with him/her."

Then oppose that. Hell, I'll even support you.

But yours is just a blanket campaign of hatred.

Updated: conix, With that qualification i was not thinking of athletes. How about the gender-at-birth females whose biology is far more orientated to athletic strength and prowess than other females-at-birth are. There would no doubt be much in-built inequality there, in birth.

All people are not born equal by any stretch of any informed and rational observation.

And from what i've read the great majority of female athletes are reasonably satisfied with how major athletic administrators are managing the situation. See again:

Agree from the evidence i've read so far that of hers has little real scientific basis. I posted it just to give it an airing. That said if good evidence arises supporting Navratilova's position then i'd agree with her that it is one area which should be farther looked at. Just grabbed this one

I’m an organizational policy wonk with a focus on current sport issues

A just released January 2024 UK report on the transgender athlete in women's sport issue .. https://fairplayforwomen.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/How-inclusion-in-sport-is-harming-women-and-girls-by-Fair-Play-For-Women-14-Jan-2024.pdf .. features the voices of females (biological girls and women) who have experienced sports competing against transgender athletes. From grassroots recreational sport to national and international levels of competitive sport, as well as from the insides of changing rooms and rest rooms, girls and women from 35 sports are speaking out. Their voices are speaking clearly about how they are being adversely affected by policies which allow males who identify as women to compete in women’s sport.

Let's not get hysterical. Trans women generally take hormones and hormone suppressants that stop the growth of facial hair and other male attributes. If they begin that regime as teens, they'll be pretty much like biological men once they're grown. As long as they follow up with surgery. But nowadays, it seems, not all are willing to do that.

For a more nuanced take on all that:

When a 12 year old girl recoils in that locker room seeing a man with a beard saying he is "queer" and he has the right to be in the locker room--what about the girl?

Excuse me? What sport team or school has adults in a locker room with 12 year olds. Better come up with a better bullshit line than that.
