You must mean Hamas isn't the elected government of Gaza just because in effect Israel has running the show there.
Because Israel have controlled Gaza and conditions in it so closely for so long. Just wondering how you could say

We know people voted for Hamas because of the terrible conditions successive Israeli governments
imposed on them, and they believed Hamas could be stronger against Israel than the PLO had been.

Now you have Palestinian supporters threatening to go off Biden for Trump who would be much worse for Palestinians.

I've gotta think they have pulled on some leverage they have and it's worked to an extent as Democrats are talking tougher about Netanyahu now.
