I think that's the EU rule. When I lived in Italy, campaigns were relatively short. And in an interesting twist, they had to STOP campaigning three weeks before the elections.
And we can thank the old wrinkled turtle mitch who is running away this year who personally pushed the corp are people too bullshit through. He worked years in the background to improve donor amounts. He may have not been alone in doing it entirely, but if it wasn't for him bending rules and stomping people it never would have happened.
But I wonder now if no one in congress wants to lose their gravy train. It changed the congress and campaign forever as long as no one repeals it.
